Bibliografia recomendada

Vou deixar este tópico em aberto para fazermos referência aos livros/RPGs/filmes/personagens que usamos para inspiração ou que podemos vir a usar - referências essas que já são algumas depois de mais de dois anos de campanha. Vamos fazendo uma pequena lista, sem nenhuma ordem em particular, com eventuais comentários ou links.

Aqui deixo à vossa apreciação as primeiras que queria referir:

1. Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (Conan Doyle)
Os clássicos de Baker Street são uma inspiração indirecta, mas são histórias de um outro lado de Londres - uma cidade para a qual não faltam referências, mas poucas são tão divertidas e interessantes como esta.

2. Call of Cthulhu (Chaosium - H.P. Lovecraft)
O segundo - talvez o primeiro - maior RPG de sempre é uma influência incontornável para qualquer jogo de terror, mesmo que não se chegue à avassaladora dimensão do irracional e da loucura do Mythos de Lovecraft.

3. Johnathan Strange & Mr. Norrel (Susanna Clarke)
A personagem do Raven King serviu de fundação para a terceira parte da campanha, trazendo para a história todo um conjunto de ideias adaptadas desta fabulosa autora. O seu segundo livro, "The Ladies of Grace Adieu", também ajuda.

4. Neverwhere (Neil Gaiman)
É difícil escapar ás ideias daquele que é dos melhores contadores de histórias de sempre. Neste caso, roubamos à London Underground o fantástico Floating Market e a misteriosa Lady Door.

Junto um poema que já vos mandei há bastante tempo e que imho simboliza bem o espírito da (primeira parte da) crónica...

5. The Giaour (Lord Byron)

E eu deixei estes para depois a ver se mais alguém falava neles, mas prontos:

6. John Constantine (Neil Gaiman)
O clássico personagem de cigarro e gabardine comprida calcorreando as cenas mais horríveis da grande cidade. Aparecendo em inúmeras histórias de vários autores - inclusivé num filme que não lhe fez justiça - John Constantine também fez o seu papel na nossa grande campanha.

7. Sandman (Neil Gaiman)
Não se preocupem, o Nelito telefonou-me ontem à noite, conversei com ele e não vamos ter que pagar direitos de autor :) Aqui fica mais uma referência à meta-mitologia do senhor Gaiman, onde encontramos perfeitamente o mundo onde o Raven King se pode encaixar. Para quem gosta deste tipo de abordagem antropomórfica dos grandes poderes do universo, também se aconselha a leitura de muitos dos livros da série "Discworld" de Terry Pratchett.
