Easier to play than you could think just reading the rules: they are rational and fit well with each other. Easier as far as mechanics are concerned: but the strategic challenge is quite deep... |

| Tiago | 8.0 | Colecção | Expect a longer first play (about 6 hours, if it's taking longer you're doing something very wrong), but subsequent plays should be in the range of 4 or 3 hours. This is play time as the setup time is about 30 minutes or more. Evokes the feelings of both factions really well, you'll feel like you're in the books! A negative point is that the pieces are cast in blue and red only even though there are actually 8 different nations which complicates your perception of the board a bit. |

The only problem with this game is it's lenght. 4/5 hour game needs lot of spouse-karma points, and being a (ideally) 2 player game, I'm not the only one needing those points... Apart from that, this is an epic game with epic proportions. The game components are just great and the game play quite lean!!! |

The mecanics are as simple as Risk concerning the war (rather dicy too, but it's always acceptable for a 2 player game, since no 3rd ou 4th player is waiting for the end of the battle); everything else is also simple (after reading the awful rulebook and using the very good 2 page turn sequence/player aid available in BGG) and fits the theme perfectly. |

| Pedrator | - | Colecção | Gorgeous game. To my mind this is universaly one of the best adaptations of Tolkiens master-piece. Players that are fans of the Book will be given one of the most involving experiences they can ever hope to get. No spectator of the LotR film will ever be able to so accuratly feel the intense clash of the free peoples/fellowship of the Ring against the Shadow Warriors. Simply fantastic! An imense fantasy themed war strategy game. Set up time is above average. Playing time can be up to 2h30mins (do yourself a favour and don't eer try to play this with 4 players! this is a 2-player game!). - Extensive rules that are not very well structured and might originate some confusion. Due to the different gaming styles fused into one game, reading these rules requires close attention and are best studied with the game set up on your table so you can better understand how it all works. Once you get it though, the game is fairly easy to play. Nevertheless, this is no game for newcommers! |
