| pitris | 9.0 | Colecção | This is a wonderfull game! It's one of my 2 wargames (the other one is Command and Colours: Ancients) and by the looks of it I'll have to start buying more! In Hannibal there are 2 planes of struggle: one political and one military. You influence regions and you fight your opponent's armies. One of the clever things about this game is the way both subgames are integrated and influence each other. When you loose a battle, there are repercussions on the political plane and that's great! The card driven system is also amazing. You get a lot of historical flavour without too much added complexity, it allows for clever tactical play and is always a source of difficult decisions. Amazing! Playtime is around 3/4 hours for us but I suspect it can decrease with experience. That's not too much, for a game like this. |

I rated it a 7 just because I don't want to be unfair to the game.
I find it to be boring. You do the same thing over and over. It's just a matter of taste. There's nothing in the game that I like.
I admit that maybe I wasn't in the right mood and with the needed security on the rules to enjoy the experience.I may have to try it again in order to decide better what to think about his one. The thing is that I'm not in a hurry to try it again and that may be an issue. I have a like new version from Valley Games and a Very Good version from Avalon Hill. I could also sell. |
