I know I will play it again and I'll adjust my Ranking then, for now I Rate it 7.5 You 'll not find the theme in the game. |

Interesting, strategic, multiple ways of achieving your goals and a very intelligent auction mechanism that really elevates this above the average.It's a true gamer's game that rewards planning, flexibility and creative playing. Luck also plays a role with the expedition cards and the colony foundation mechanism. Some people complained that its role is too important but in my (limited) experience it has never been an issue. Overall a great game and a very solid design. My favorite Rudiger Dorn game to date.UPDATE: I played again 4 player and I definitely prefer it with less players. It's not a bad game with 4, far from it, but there are other games that I prefer for that particular setup (PoF, PR, AoS, ...). Rating went down 9-8. Still an amazing 2p game... I think I would rate it a 9!

| soledade | - | Colecção | I like the game. It's not very heavy, it's not a mind burner, but still has a couple of decisions to make. The only thing I don't like that much in the game is, along with the lack of interactivity, the fact that we can always make your own game. The resources never end, if you can't produce pepper that's ok, you can produce anything else because the result seems to be the same. The balance on the development still seems to be the goal of the game and that's why I like it. I tend to ignore the multiplayer solitaire aspect of this game, maybe because I love the theme and the art. I'm only expecting to play it again and again to see if I'll rate it higher. |

The way that the different production columns intervine is very clever, I also enjoy the strategy to combine several columns, even though the combo Spice/expedition seems to be the most efficient I never use it and try to block it with either Spice/Colonists or Spice/Boat with some tax collection in the middle. But I think this is what Goa is mostly about, trying to find a good balanced strategy and respond efficiently to the inconsitant outcome of the auction. No doubt Ruediger Dorn's best game so far. I tried the combo colonist/boat recently, worked out very well. Think I'll be trying this one more often hence forth. |
