Hoje ofereceram-me o venerável Diplomacy. Quem conhece boardgames já ouviu falar do Diplomacy. Agora encontrar 7 pessoas que não se importem de serem lixadas à força toda durante o jogo todo.
Um amigo meu disse uma vez que a melhor maneira de jogar Diplomacy é com pessoas que não se conhece, e é verdade depois de ler as regras. O jogo é a definição perfeita de lixar o adversário de todas as maneiras e feitios.
Se querem transformar os vossos melhores amigos em inimigos eternos, joguem Diplomacy. Cá para mim, vou ver se encontro sete tipos dispostos a tudo.

Hehe, sou um GRANDE fã de Diplomacy :)
Eh pá, eu jogo boardgames quase todas as semanas com malta, ganhamos e perdemos uns contra os outros, e temos medo do Diplomacy. Jogamos, mas espaçadamente. Já vi um casal separar-se por causa do jogo, e muita gente chatear-se.
Memo a malta que advoga que a solução "honesta" é a melhor - traír uma só vez durante o jogo, e apenas quando a traição fizer mudar o rumo ao tabuleiro - reconhece que essa única traição, é capaz de vos fazer perder amigos. E em quase todos os jogos há-de vos aparecer uma destas situações:
1) ou traem os aliados, ou perdem o jogo;
2) estão quase a ganhar e só o vosso aliado vos pode parar - mais vale matá-lo antes que seja tarde.
(malta dos RPGs Narrativistas - aqui está uma decisão forte :)
Uma solução é jogar online com jogadores desconhecidos - houve uma altura da minha vida, mens ocupada, em que tinha 3 jogos a correr. Há uns sites com isto algures. Mesmo assim, custa levar a facada nas costas e muitos jogos param porque alguém foi traído e desistiu.
O Diplomacy é um jogo de emoções fortes. Eu adoro-o porque me treina para ser frio quand é preciso e a aceitar a traição com um sorriso - amarelo - nos lábios - dá jeito às vezes :)

Não tenho a menor duvida daquilo que dizes. O Diplomacy parece-me ser um jogo muito, muito porco, muito mais do que o normal aceitável por jogadores normais. É preciso mesmo estar num estado de espirito completamente diferente quando se joga ao Diplomacy.
Mas eu gosto do jogo. Só que acho que nunca o jogarei, duvido que encontre pessoas dispostas a serem porcas e a não levar isso a peito.

Tenho que ver se vou ai acima quando for um encontro dos boardgamers e a ver se levo alguns boardgames dos viciantes. Assim fica toda a gente ainda mais viciada do que já estão! :D

Esta conversa e "polémica" toda em torno deste jogo está a deixar-me com vontade de o experimentar, quanto mais não seja para ver se vale mesmo a pena haver pessoal a chatear-se por causa de um jogo.

A ver se vou ai acima, agora que o Phillip tem a loja, e levo o jogo para jogarmos. O mal é que o jogo pode demorar ate 12 horas continuas.
RPL: Acredita, se houver um unico boardgame neste mundo capaz de quebrar relações, é mesmo este. Acredita.

Quase que subscrevo. Conheço 1 pessoa que se chateou a sério com a malta por causa do Junta. Mas é só 1. O Diplomacy continua a bater-lhe aos pontos ;-)
Dos "German Games", acho que o Tigris & Euphrates também tem tendência a provocar desavenças porque a maneira certa de ganhar pontos é atacar a posição dos outros no tabuleiro directamente, e é tudo ou nada - tás a ganhar e de repente ficas na merda pq o teu colega do lado te comeu a peça.
Mas também é um menino de coro comparado com o diplomacy ;-)

Bem, quanto ao Euphrat&Tigris, acho o boardgame muito, muito bom e a minha estrategia é simplesmente ir construindo tiles dos quais tenho menos pontos. Nada de guerras com os vizinhos hehehe.
Ganho mais do que perco com esta estratégia. :D

O Tigris & Eupthates é diferente do Euphrat & Tigris, se bem que sejam do mesmo autor. Nunca joguei o segundo...

Não, são exactamente o mesmo boardgame. A unica diferença é que um é produzido pela Hans Im Gluck e o outro é a versão americana da Mayfair com arte diferente. De resto são iguais hehehehe.

Hehehe o cardgame do Dr Knizia. O Boardgame é também feito pelo Dr. Knizia e é dos melhores boardgames que existem. De facto, antes de aparecer o Puerto Rico, o Euphrat&Tigris era *O* boardgame euro que era necessário ter na colecção. Aconselho vivamente, um dos melhores boardgames que tenho.
