| fgpina | 10.0 | Colecção | Imperial manages to elegantly merge the two game categories that I most like: economics and war. The game appears at first sight to be mostly a war game and some players will tend to play it that way, but for me the economical (stock market) side is the most fascinating. There are truly two games being played in parallel, where war/country development influences the stock market and the contrary is even more noticeable. As country stocks can be bought by several players, partial alliances are quite common - a player may have an alliance with another for a specific country, but be in war for another country. This creates a nice platform for complex player interactions which can create tremendous fun and chaos. Imperial asks for players which mostly favour strategy and great player interaction, but prefer simple and elegant gameplay without excessive rules/details. |

And the rondel is the touch of genius that makes it a true classic! Good quality components, no luck, almost perfect information (money is hidden) and 3 hours of wheeling, dealing and playing with Europe's fate! Just plain fun! Amazing! |

Do mesmo autor do Antike. Também tem a Rondel. As decisões não envolvem sorte. Somente as ações escolhida pelos jogadores para cada país que domina. Você pode construir fábricas, produzir unidades terrestres e marítimas, movimentar, investir, importar unidades e fazer taxação. Ele se passa por um jogo de guerra. Tem unidades, conflitos, territórios mas na realidade é um jogo econômico pois comandará o país ou os país o jogador que tiver mais ações daquele país. E no fim do jogo vence quem tem mais dinheiro. Bem interessante. Relativamente pesado e demorado mas vale o tempo. | |

It's one of the most original and brilliant games I've ever played and it will always be a part of boardgaming history. It is a top 10 game pedigree for its brilliance. Superb game. The best game of 2006. It won the prize Jogo do Ano 2006 - http://www.boardgamegeek.com/wiki/page/Jogo_do_Ano My top #1 game. I like economic games and Imperial gives players that opportunity. Also, the challenge to play it well is the most interesting thing this game has because you not only have to take good decisions when controlling a country and manage your own money but also when disputing the best way to give up or grab a nation's flag. It has perfect information, no luck involved and players who play better win. I believe that in this game the best player always wins (the player who plays better). |
