| Tiago | 8.0 | Colecção | Dominion is a 2 to 4 player game in which the main mechanic is deck building. You read that right, this game is more about the deck of cards you end up with than the cards you play in the game. I find it a very original approach which will no doubt be copied in the future by other games. It’s a medium/light game that takes about 30 minutes of play, very simple to grasp and with a good amount of choices. It’s one of my favorite filler games already and I’m always ready to play it. The objective of this game is to end up with the most victory points in your deck, seeing as those victory serve no purpose on the deck while actually playing, there is a balance to be maintained between cards you can play and cards that will ultimately make you win. | pitris | 7.0 | What a cool idea for a game! It's a card game where you build your deck at the same time that you play it. In the early game you need money and cards that will allow you to make more actions and buy more stuff. In the end game you're trying to get rid of those cards and buy the ones that are worth points. Somewhere in the middle you have to make the shift from money to points. It's quick, addictive and the deck building as you go mechanic really works well. It's also very suitable for online, because of all the shuffling of the decks. It's not thematic and doesn't score many points in the player interaction department. But that's fine with me. After one's familiar with the mechanics and the cards, playing dominion is like driving a car: you do it without thinking and while chatting with the other players. It's not bad, but it isn't a challenge, an immersive experience or a big mental exercise. It's just something pleasant and harmless to do when you need to kill some time. | |

It worked well although some of the cards with similar prices were way much better than others wich I guess it's normal. I've found it odd. I still think this is a good game, easy to play, difficult to master (I don't intend to master this game because I really hate having to know all cards and combos in order to play it right). A bit boring at some point. A seven is good enough for now. 03/01/09 Pushed the rate down to a five because this game is becoming obsolete after playing it not more than half a dozen times. Its hype doesn't make sense, the game is boring at some point. You could also play it without even looking at what you're doing and you may win! Final edit: And the winner is.... the player who can get 8 coins more often. It's not about building your deck or anything like it's all about getting those coins! This game has nice ideas but all in all it doesn't work for me. Plus I don't think that it deserves such a hype. PS: One of the things I hate to do is shuffling cards. A game that makes me do that all the time doesn't diserve much of my attention. |

It's cool that there are so many different card types that can be combined and used to provide different strategies and a very long replayability. THe hype around the game though made it seem much more then it actually is. and the size of the box is defenetly missleading, there is no need for sucha box, but ok, I'll keep it. |
