| Prof. Plum | 10.0 | Colecção | Unsurpassed in its category (light/medium weight race games), this highly underrated game is a master-class in game design. Its minimalist set of just 3 rules distils all game-balancing mechanisms to their barest dichotomy: spend resources to get closer to your goal, and get further away from the goal to replenish resources! The game is also malleable: one can easily shorten the duration or give a handicap to a weaker player. Cartagena plays equally well (but very differently!) with 2 or 5 players, with non-trivial strategical and tactical options (and a bit of luck to throw in more excitement). |
