Need to play it more to clarify certain things. 29/5/2010 Played the game again after more than 2 years from the first time and maybe because times have changed or maybe because I like other kind of game now, I didn't become a huge fan of RB. Played a 3 player game using a non conflict map. Two players went for the wonder from the very beginning of the game while the third player, which was I went for the stocks. One single stock was more than enough to win the game by a large margin. But the main thing here was that the game was very, very, boring. I won it, I did my thing, everything went right but it was boring to death. Fiddlyness remains like a brand logo mark from Splotter and frankly I'm starting to question this kind of game organization. I like complicated games but this kind of dirt in the board is starting to annoy me more than pleasing me. Indonesia and Antiquity have the exact same problem and I can't find a solution if the game doesn't reveal a strong appeal, and RB clearly didn't. I will play it again for sure in the future but at least I have to find a more dynamic and conflictual map. |
