A very elegant design, it's much more tactical than strategical (although some kind of medium term strategy is not absent) thus allowing for a lot of creativity in the game play. It's one of those games which always creates a very good mood around the table, with everybody threatening everybody else, shouting, planning or offering advice. Pure gaming pleasure for everybody! :) |

Very elegant. After all this years this game didn't survive very well in my will to play it. I confess that I'm not too much excited in playing it again in any time soon but I still respect the way this game changed and molded my way to see games, especially euros. El Grande is one of the first euros that introduced some new and fresh mechanics that I still love. But then again, the lack of theme makes me don't like it that much after all these years. |
